So as promised here comes the post from our second day in Amsterdam… After another wonderful breakfast in the hotel we set off to visit the Stedelijk museum. The museum is the most meaningful for modern and contemporary art and design in the Netherlands. Luckily audio guides are offered for free which really helps when viewing the artworks. I don’t know about you, but I often find myself looking at an object in museum an trying to fathom what on earth the artist was thinking when he or she constructed it. Modern art especially can be quite strange at times and while of course art is meant for interpretation as much as truly understanding the artists motivation – I do feel that gaining a bit of context helps me better understand the message. For example, the string of lights shown in some of the pictures below are by an artist…

A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I decided to take a spontaneous three-day trip to Amsterdam. We have a long-distance relationship which works out fine for the most part and we try to see each other every other weekend but sometimes it’s nice to get away to somewhere new and explore together. I have actually been to Amsterdam twice, but the last time I went was at 17 so it’s been a while and D has actually never been. From where he lives in Münster it is only a 2 1/2 hour drive so easily manageable (although I first had to take a four-hour train up to Münster…). We drove to our hotel on a Sunday and got to our hotel quite late so didn’t explore much that day. D found our hotel the “Student Hotel” which is located slightly outside the centre… however, it turned out to be…

Hey stranger – hi, hello how are we all? It’s been a while and so I thought I’d kick things off with a rather picture-heavy update from my life since I last posted. A lot has happened since October 2018 and this blog is just as much for anyone who fancies reading it as it is for me to document and look back on what I’ve been up to. October I started writing my Master thesis in October which is the main reason as to why it’s been quiet over here. When you spend your days writing and researching all day all you want to do in the evening is chill out (or actually go to the gym to get some exercise in) and not continue writing… Also I spent most of my days in sweatpants so not too fashion forward. A lot of days were spent procrastinating, trying new…

I thought I’d kick things off with a few updates of what I have been up to this summer. I have been really lucky to travel quite a bit the past few months. The first trip being to Denmark. My boyfriends’ parents bought an RV this year and we were allowed to borrow it for a week. We decided to drive up to Denmark as it is not far from Hamburg – where his parents live. It was the most relaxing trip so here are a few photos if you would like to see… Beautiful scenery in Hoyer, Denmark. Pretty cool beach which you could drive onto on the island of Röm. Exploring the picturesque village of Ribe. Low tide – Wattenmeer at Esbjerg. Sandy beaches, ice cream and watching surfers in Hvide Sande. Last evening – no makeup, a lot of freckles and sad to go home. Hope you…
