A few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I decided to take a spontaneous three-day trip to Amsterdam. We have a long-distance relationship which works out fine for the most part and we try to see each other every other weekend but sometimes it’s nice to get away to somewhere new and explore together. I have actually been to Amsterdam twice, but the last time I went was at 17 so it’s been a while and D has actually never been. From where he lives in Münster it is only a 2 1/2 hour drive so easily manageable (although I first had to take a four-hour train up to Münster…). We drove to our hotel on a Sunday and got to our hotel quite late so didn’t explore much that day. D found our hotel the “Student Hotel” which is located slightly outside the centre… however, it turned out to be…

Here is a bit of a picture-heavy post to celebrate this wonderful (and very late) summer… These pictures were taken on the way home to my parents after a night-out for a friends 30th… so feeling a bit delicate but this flowy Zara dress was perfect for the occasion (i.e. hangover brunch). Seeing as it’s a pretty simple dress it goes well with some more statement boots, which I got last year but are a big trend for this season. Kind of hoping for colder weather now… time to get out those jumpers and coats! Much love! Thanks to Dominik Emmert for the photos.

Last week was my 24th Birthday. It’s crazy how another year flew by and how dates like this kind of creep up on you even when you’ve been expecting them (do you know what I mean?). So, it’s time for some reflection… My 23rd year in life has been a good one. I finished my bachelor’s degree with a grade far better than I had expected and immediately went on to study a master’s degree in Creative Communication and Brand Management which I then changed, one term in, to Creative Direction. While it might be difficult to understand the difference between the two courses, the degree I am studying now is far more creative and has led to a personal development over the past few months which I am equally surprised by and also very happy about. Suffice to say: it was a great decision. This year, or more…

One thing I like to do when putting outfits together is search for inspiration on Pinterest. Sometimes there will be a specific piece of clothing that inspires me but other times I want to recreate the whole look. Such as in this case. I love this smart-casual look that Selena (or her stylist, who knows) put together. It’s super simple and I think it would work for many occasions. I wore it out for lunch on a sunny day. I feel like these are pieces that lots of people will have in their wardrobe. A lot of the time Instagram/ YouTube etc. makes me want to buy the latest trends and pieces I see on famous bloggers (and not gonna lie a lot of the time I do…) but it makes me forget how many (many) things I already have. The only thing that I bought this year are the…

One of the reasons I started this blog was to show that you can have style and wear fun clothes no matter what your budget. I am currently studying a master’s degree and while I do still have some support from my parents I also work to earn extra money (which I then mainly spend on clothes). I think that it is so easy to find pieces that you love on the high street which you can wear over and over again. But even when on a budget it is still possible to snag some more expensive (and maybe longer lasting) pieces along the way. As we are slowly coming into Spring this look has some of my favourite investment pieces that I wore over winter and some of which can easily work for the whole year. So starting with the coat – I actually got it in the sales…
